In Memory of Richard Bianchi

California Department of Correction’s Officer Richard Bianchi, 53, was killed June 25th in a vehicle crash on Highway 44 near Redding.

He was en route from the High Desert State Prison to Redding Hospital to perform guard duty for an inmate at the hospital. His department vehicle left the roadway four miles east of Old Station Road and overturned, causing him to suffer fatal injuries.

Officer Bianchi had served with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for 10 years. He is survived by his wife and two adult children.
