End of Watch: 9/21/2013

Laguna Beach Police Officer, Jon Coutchie, 42, was killed around 11 p.m. September 21, 2013 when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Pacific Coast Highway.

Police say Coutchie was trying to locate a vehicle that had eluded officers when he collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck. He died at the scene, though witnesses rushed to assist the fallen officer and administer CPR.

Coutchie was a former Army Ranger who served 2 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He had been with the Laguna Beach Police Department since 2009.
He is survived by his mother, father, brother.
