In Memory of Jose Mora

Fresno County Sheriff’s Department Detective Jose Mora, 44, died September 7th after contracting COVID-19 while transporting a homicide suspect back to Fresno County from Oklahoma.

In early 2020, thousands of law enforcement officers and other first responders throughout the country contracted COVID-19 during the worldwide pandemic due to requirements of their job. Many of these first responders died as a result of COVID-19.

Detective Mora had 20 years of service. He served with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office for 16 years and had previously served with the Firebaugh Police Department for 4 years.

He is survived by his wife and 4 children.
