In loving memory of Firefighter Michael Hallenbeck

End of Watch: 8/8/2015

Twenty-one year old U.S. Forest Service Firefighter Michael Hallenbeck of Shingle Springs was killed after being hit by a falling tree at about 5:30 P.M. on August 8th. Hallenbeck was assisting in the initial attack on the Sierra Fire near Echo Summit in El Dorado County.

He is survived by his parents Toni and Kirby Hallenbeck, who describe him as an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors. He snowboarded, hiked, and played football, basketball, soccer, tennis, golf, and ice hockey.
