About Us

Our History

Upon the tragic death of four Oakland Police Officers on March 21, 2009, it became apparent that there was an unfortunate and important need to support our families and agencies who were directly affected by a Line of Duty Death.

Police and Fire: The Fallen Heroes was formed and the organization held a remarkable Celebrity Golf Tournament and Fundraiser at Diablo Country Club in 2010 in the town of Diablo, CA. From that one event, our nonprofit organization was able to donate $40,000 to the families of those heroes who were killed in the line of duty. It was after this event that a

Our CEO, Thomas D. Gallinatti, who retired after 30 years with the Oakland Fire Department as a Battalion Chief and Director of Training, took on the challenge of providing direct support to the families and agencies of those who served our communities and were tragically killed in the Line of Duty. Police and Fire: The Fallen Heroes was founded and aptly adopted the motto of “Serving Those Who Served.”
