Briceland Volunteer Fire Department Chief, Tim Olsen, 71, died March 20th of a massive heart attack while on his way to a meeting with CAL FIRE.

Despite valiant efforts from members of the Briceland Fire District and City Ambulance to revive him, Tim did not survive.

Briceland, just south of Fortuna, CA, is a small rural Department serving the Redwood Creek watershed in Northern California. They serve the community through wildfire suppression, as well as structure firefighting, rescue and emergency medical services.

Olsen served the Briceland community for nearly twenty years, as well as serving on the Shelter Cove fire department for over ten years.

Friends and co-workers of Olsen describe him as a true hero, energetic, passionate about his work, and a mentor to all.
