Testimonials

“I consider it a great honor and a tremendous privilege to be associated with Police and Fire: The Fallen Heroes. I have deep respect for the courageous men and women who put themselves on the line, and in harms way, to protect and defend America’s citizens. I am involved with many organizations that seek to make this world and the lives of others better. Police and Fire: The Fallen Heroes is one of those organizations, but this one is very dear to my heart. Throughout my career as I stood on the pitcher’s mound, and even to this very day, when I hear the National Anthem I am moved remembering the valiant men and women who keep this country, our 50 states, our city streets bustling with young ones determined to make their dreams a reality, free from violence and devastation. I will always “go to bat” for Police and Fire: The Fallen Heroes, and I consider myself a very lucky man to be able to continue to do so in the many years to come.”

Police and Fire: The Fallen Heroes came into my life after the Line of Duty Death of my loving partner and father of our daughter, Mark Ratledge, on 2/29/12. The timing of their support and empathy still amazes me today. My fire dept. received a call about a car The Fallen Heroes could donate to our family. My oldest daughter moved to Colorado to put herself through college. She took with her my old Honda Civic, which died and was not running. She had a 45-minute commute and was working full time. To see the smile on my daughters face, and to know she would be in a safe running car, was very heartwarming. The Fallen Heroes came into our lives at a desperate time of need, showing us that people do still care. I don’t know how I will ever pay them back, but hope to help in future events to assist other families.”

“It’s been such a great honor and pleasure to work with Police and Fire: The Fallen Heroes. This group steps up when tragedy strikes, to take care of the families of those law enforcement and fire service personnel who have died after putting everything on the line, protecting and serving the citizens of California. Over the past few years, I have seen first-hand the impact this organization has had in the lives of the families that these courageous men and women have left behind. It’s my hope that The Fallen Heroes organization continues to grow and find support from our community. In this way, they can expand the assistance they provide to the families of those heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice.”

“It has been my honor to be associated with Police and Fire: The Fallen Heroes. Their dedication to the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice is unyielding. The exceptional work they do for those who have served our communities through fire or police service is commendable. “

“I have had the opportunity to volunteer for hundreds of charitable organizations over the past 30 years because of my association with the NFL. I have had to become very selective in the last 10 years. It seemed like I was agreeing to help almost any charity and noticed that some didn’t actually get the funds to the right people. The Fallen Heroes runs “lean and mean” and I’ve seen first-hand the appreciation, gratitude and even relief in the scholarship recipients’ eyes. I’m proud to be associated with The Fallen Heroes organization because they are dedicated and committed to helping the families of everyday heroes.”

The work done by this organization directly affects the CHP and their families by providing the resources necessary in their greatest time of need. Please know that their support is recognized by the members of the CHP and we appreciate all they do. We thank them for their constant effort towards such a powerful cause and making a difference in so many lives. Keep up the good work!”

“Unfortunately most people never think of a Firefighter or Police officer …Until they need one…These heroes leave their homes and families every day not sure if they will ever see them again. Some of them do not return and it is these Fallen Heroes. A reminder for all of us just how important and special they are to our every lives and to remind their families that they are NOT forgotten. God Bless their souls.”

Police and Fire: The Fallen Heroes organization graciously awarded me a scholarship last semester (Fall 2013), sending me some much-needed financial assistance for my education at The Master’s College. Through their contribution, I was able to buy or rent all of my required textbooks and supplies without a bit of stress. I thank God for their ministry to those like me who have lost a loved one.”

“I want to thank Police and Fire: The Fallen Heroes for the generous scholarship that my son Brandon has received. He is now a junior at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and without the help from The Fallen Heroes, it would have been difficult for him to continue his education there. I am so happy that organizations like this exist. They have helped make a difficult situation easier to deal with… thank you again!”

Police and Fire: The Fallen Heroes came to the aid of our squad immediately following a line of duty death and in the months thereafter. This organization’s generosity played an instrumental role in our efforts to honor the memory of our fallen brother. The process to request financial assistance was user-friendly and efficient. Police and Fire: The Fallen Heroes support didn’t stop with their generous donations, as members of the non-profit organization personally attended events held in honor of the five CHP officers we have lost over the years in Contra Costa County.”
